"Together
in Action - for the future of work " is the theme of the
world council of the international Young Christian Workers (YCW)
movement - an opportunity for young worker members representing the
YCW from all around the world, to take time to reflect on the reality
we experience in our world today, exchange and evaluate our actions,
our organisation and our international movement. It's a chance to share our ideas for the future, develop a new plan of action for a
better world, and to take up responsibility to implement this plan of
action.
This opportunity usually happens once every four years, and
this year the council will meet in the region of
Tamil Nadu, India, between September 28th and October 15th.
 Members of YCW India Meeting in India is not the only way to participate in this council. We want that our world council is not 'just another meeting', but is part of the action development of our movement - part of a continuous process of education through action, now, in the daily life of our movement at the local, national and international level, and shared with others in the forums, blogs, and chat pages of this website. Why don't you share your experience through this website and start a discussion with others in our international movement?
We want to involve as many members as possible in a process starting now - preparing together with you, exchange of our actions, our vision, our coordination and all aspects of our movement. We want a strong preparation towards the council and a well prepared strategy to implement the decisions after the council within the member movements. For this to happen, we want your involvement. You can reach all documents together with the preparation calender and plan in the downloads section of this website. Remember, you have to sign in as a member to access this page. "Together in Action" will start with an exchange and exposure of actions in response to the specific realities of workers in the informal economy, and young women workers as actions of special attention in India. There will also be an opportunity for meetings of the national movements to meet together per continent or region following the council, to develop a plan for how to implement the international plan of action that we decide on during the council. We invite YOU to participate in this council by contributing your thoughts and experiences on this website. Help us by motivating others to share their experiences, actions, concerns, and ideas giving feedback to the actions of others. It will help us to be more relevant to the needs and concerns of the national movements in the preparation process of the council and be more efficient with our time together in India. We give importance to your feedback on the agenda of the council, as we want to make sure it meets the needs of your national movement. We hope that the participation of members of our international movement, will motivate a better plan of action for the future of work and our movement of young workers. We want to be VISIBLE as actors in society for a better world for all. Together in Action - for the future of work! We invite YOU to be part of it!
